Friendly Reminder: One-Stop-Shopping For Your Announcements & Calendaring

Tired of emailing or talking to ten different people for event and meeting logistics and publicity?  Well...

UUCC is switching to a new, simplified way to request...
          • OBIC space for events/meetings,
          • pulpit announcements,
          • Order of Service (OoS) announcements,
          • articles for the LINK newsletter, and
          • UUCC website calendar event listings

It's a single form we've nicknamed the "One-Stop-Shopping Announcement Form."

You can also use the form to request a room at OBIC. No special computer skill is needed.

The form is here.

Please note that all UUCC-related or sponsored events, including activities sponsored by groups within UUCC, should now be posted in the congregational calendar.

Speak to Laurie Coltri for more details, or email her at lscoltri@verizon.net.  For calendar/reservation issues or questions NOT covered by the form, please contact Congregational Secretary, Kelly Lundgren at admin@uucolumbia.net

  • Jazz Connection` Tuesday, May 23, 2017 (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm) General

A group of UUCC music lovers get together on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM for bread-breaking and soup, gumbo or one of the recipes from the jazz cook book. Yes, there is one, proving that jazz musicians cook in more ways than one.

Even if you feel you think you don't like or understand jazz, coming to the Jazz Connection -- or listening to a jazz performance by our Intern Minister, Anthony Jenkins, or to our Chalice Messengers jazz sextet -- might change your mind or provide a different view.

For everyone, we would like to have you come to share your views and the gumbo with the rest of us. Some say the rum cake alone is worth coming, so if you decide to come please let us know to set a plate for you and whoever you bring.

Contact: Cole Wiggins (jazz@uucolumbia.net or 410-997-1713).

  • Turning Circle Friday, June 2, 2017 (7:30 pm - 9:30 pm) General

We are an open, eclectic Pagan circle. Our unifying thread is an Earth-based spirituality, revering the Earth and her interdependent web of life. We do not follow any one particular Pagan path – rather we embrace them all. Those who believe in one God or Goddess, many Gods and Goddesses, or no Gods at all are welcome in our midst.

Our rituals reflect this variety of beliefs. Rituals are run by volunteers from our membership, and since our members follow a variety of paths, you may experience anything from a Wiccan ritual, or a Druid high day, to a Buddhist meditation, a Yoruba celebration, or a Shinto rite.

We generally meet on the first and third Fridays of each month at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center in Columbia, Maryland (OBIC.)

For more information, please visit www.turningcircle.org.
