Taylor Carson

"My/our music is filled with the optimism of dreams into everyday challenges and finds, with insightful observation, good in the world around us. Songwriting is my vehicle of choice in the relentless pursuit of identity and community. "

Accomplished Arlington-based singer-songwriter Taylor Carson returns to the coffeehouse to share his distinctive style of music that seamlessly blends rock, reggae, folk, funk, and bluegrass. A Singer/Songwriter who built his musical chops on the shoulders of the acoustic rock superstarsof the Dave Matthews Band, Virginia Coalition and O.A.R., he took his lyrical inspiration from timeless wordsmiths like Paul Simon, Cat Stevens and Martin Sexton. Having now performed and recorded music for over 15 years he is a veteran with 6 full-length records released; the two most recent in the Top 10 on the iTunes charts. 2010’s Defending The Name earned him an Independent Music Award for Concept Album of the Year. His latest album, Go Amaze (May 2016) shares his optimism and life lessons.

This will be a special intimate concert in duo with Taylor's guitarist Mark Williams.

More About Us and Our Concerts
In 1999 members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia (UUCC) decided to encourage a sense of community by presenting an array of musical talent in a comfortable, family-friendly setting. Since then our stage has showcased Medieval choruses, jazz and folk singers, Celtic dancers, children's music, plastic pipes, rain stick demonstrations and steel drums. Evening performances generally happen the 3rd Saturday of each month in the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, owned by UUCC and Christ United Methodist Church and home to 5 other faith communities.
