We need to talk . . .
about your UUCC pledge.
This is the time of the year when UUCC conducts our Annual Budget Drive. It is the time that we turn our aspirations into action. What are our dreams? And can we make them a reality? We can only do it if every member makes a pledge of financial support for UUCC.
First, remember. Remember an uplifting or infuriating sermon. Remember Michael Adcock playing beautifully and the choir’s soaring voices. Remember the children skipping out of the sanctuary after the Time for All Ages. Remember the amazement and joy on the faces of people of color driving by our Black Lives Matter Vigil. Remember the gratitude on the faces of our guests at the Warm Welcome Shelter. These and many more programs are the core of UUCC and why we are members of this community.
Second, review. Review the budget priorities that were determined at the congregational meeting on January 8. The budget is ambitious, setting a goal of $806,500 in pledges - an increase of 24% over last year. Review the adjustments in compensation for our staff. Review the effort to move to full Fair Share payments to our denomination in three years. Review the support for our local community through Cradlerock Children’s Center and PATH. It is through this financial support that we create the programs that are at the core of UUCC.
Third, consider. Consider making a Fair Share pledge. The Fair Share Giving Guide suggests a pledge based on each household’s personal financial situation and the level of engagement in the life of our congregation. If you are already making a Fair Share pledge, consider “moving to the right” on the guide by becoming a Visionary or Transformer. Those who self-identify as Fair Share donors will be invited to a cocktail party on the evening of Saturday, February 25.
Fourth, pledge. Please make your confidential pledge here.
Thank you for your continued support of UUCC and the presence of Liberal Religion in Howard County, Maryland and the US.
