Hello RE Families,
Our summer filled with kindness continues! I am especially proud to report that our kindness bulletin boards are filling up with hearts. Each heart represents an act of kindness performed by one of our amazing kids. Please come downstairs and take a look at our progress. The boards are located directly outside of room 150.
Two weeks ago, we read the book, “Leonardo the Terrible Monster” by Mo Willems about a monster who learns that being a great friend is perhaps better than scaring people. The kids then made “hugs” to mail to special people in their lives. Each child traced their hands and cut a strip of paper the size of their arm length. Mailing these special hugs to grandparents seemed to be a favorite idea among the group.
Last week, we read the book, “Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed by Emily Pearson” about a seemingly ordinary girl who does a seemingly ordinary thing that starts a chain reaction that multiplies around the world. Our kids then wrote encouraging, kind notes and handed them out to the congregation at large and to their families. It has been wonderful to note that our kids never seem to have a shortage of kind words to share with others.
It has been pure joy to see the empathy and caring of our kids on full display this summer. We can all truly be proud of the people that our smallest congregants are becoming.
If you would like to join us downstairs as a lead teacher or assistant this summer, please sign up here.
If you have not yet had a chance to register your child for summer classes, you may do so here.
With Gratitude,
Kelli
