The Article II Study Commission has been working through the feedback from this year’s UUA General Assembly, and are engaging in their next round of drafting. Once again, the commission would like feedback from Unitarian Universalist congregation members on different sections.
They’ve scheduled ten Zoom sessions at various times for people to look at draft language and discuss it. Hopefully, one of them will work with your schedule. Another round of revision will follow, with more feedback sessions in late October/early November.
You’ll need to register to attend a session. When you do, you’ll get the draft via email. We look forward to hearing from you as we help chart the future of our Unitarian Universalist faith together!

What is Article II?
Article II is the section of the UUA Bylaws that contains the 7 Principles of Unitarian Universalism, the 6 Sources of Unitarian Universalism, as well as statements of inclusion, freedom of belief, and the UUA’s purposes.
Our UUCC congregation is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Article II of the UUA Bylaws contains the Principles & Purposes that serve as the foundation for all of the work of the UUA and its member congregations and covenanted communities. It is the covenant to which congregations and covenanted communities pledge themselves when they become members of the UUA.
The Board of Trustees of the UUA has appointed a Commission to review Article II. The Commission is charged with revising, replacing, and restructuring Article II of the Bylaws to reflect and serve the future of the UUA.
