UUCC is hosting its first 🎨artisan fair🧶 on Sunday, May 4 from 11:30-1:30pm at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center in sanctuary B and on the patio. What better way to show our resistance to the billion dollar corporations we have come to depend on by purchasing items handmade by community members just trying to make enough money to fund the hobbies that give them energy and life, amiright!?
Arrive at OBIC at 11:30, or pop by after service, ready to purchase beautifully hand crafted items made by your fellow UUCC congregants as gifts or for yourself! Some of the items we know will be there are: paintings, pottery, fiber art (like knitting, needle felt, and macrame) paintings, jewelry, and much more! Please read below to learn about payment options.
On a budget or have a child with a small amount of money who may want to purchase something?
There will also be a $5 and below table that the artists will donate pieces to. This table will be varying, limited supply of crafts donated but the artists in support of UUCC. Any money raised at this table does not go to the artists, but to supporting the Children and Family ministry programs.
⚠️ Payment ⚠️
Each vender is in charge of how they prefer to receive payment. It is recommended that you bring CASH or CHECK to pay with because any payments with CARD will cost the artist a processing fee. We know some artists will be ready to accept virtual payments such as Venmo or Zelle (which will have processing fees), but we cannot promise there will be every option available or even the ability to swipe cards. SO BRING CASH OR CHECK please.
UUCC will NOT accept payment on behalf of the artists and pay them later. So please do not pay on Realm expecting UUCC to send the artist your payment.
✨ Sign up by April 13 if you would like to reserve table space or donate items to our $5 & below table (all items at the table will be sold for $5 and below, and all proceeds from this table will go directly to UUCC’s Children and Family Ministry program).
How It’s Gonna Work
Vendors are responsible for setting up between 10am and 11:30am and must be ready by 11:30am when the fair starts. Breakdown may begin at 1:30pm, and all vendors are expected to stay for the full duration. Each vendor is responsible for managing their own sales, including accepting payments and providing change. We suggest a 10% donation of sales to support UUCC. If you are unable to attend, notify us as soon as possible at hannah@uucolumbia.net so we can offer your spot to another artisan. Tables and chairs will be provided—please bring any additional display items you need. Artisans who would simply like to donate items to the $5 & below table may drop them off at the UUCC office by April 27. Any remaining items must be picked up again by May 11.
Please note that for this fair, we are accepting only handmade items, no resold products.
Thank you for being a part of this special event! 💛
