The first ever UU Climate Justice Revival is sweeping the country this September and UUCC is going to be part of it! On September 28-29, congregations all around the country will host UU Climate Justice Revivals to collectively reimagine a spirit-filled and liberatory future. Check out UU President Rev. Betancourt’s inspiring 3 minute video invitation, where she says:
“Let us remind us that the work of climate justice is the work of disability rights. It’s the work of racial justice. It is gender justice and immigrant rights. It’s the work of animal rights and of reproductive justice. It’s central to our democratic organizing and to our work together to live into our values in the world.”
Through conversations, worship, and advocacy, congregations will work together to realize climate justice and collective liberation in our communities.
On Saturday, September 28, our congregation’s adults, children, and youth will join together to:
- Identify opportunities for climate justice in our community
- Develop a vision of a flourishing future
- Identify a clear set of potential actions that we can take to realize this vision
- Enable participants to understand their roles in the interdependent ecosystem of creating climate justice and collective liberation.
On Sunday, September 29, after climate-focused worship, we’ll engage in an advocacy hour in solidarity with other UU congregations around the country. Please HOLD THE DATES and plan to join us for conversations, worship, and advocacy during two spirit-filled days. Saturday’s session will take place from 8:30AM to 1:00PM, with light snacks provided.
