A message from UUCC founding member Gail Thompson Guy:
John Guy, Eileen Henderson and I, Gail Thompson Guy, were tasked to establish a separate structure for our Endowment Fund in 2003. It belongs to the Congregation, not the UUCC Board of Trustees. The Endowment Board can give up to 5% of earnings annually to the UUCC Board. It is the Board’s choice how to spend it. ONLY the congregation can vote to dip into the principal when great need is known. John and I each have gifted a legacy gift, annual gifts, and memorial gifts throughout the year. The fund is our future, ensuring the ability of UUCC to survive and thrive for centuries to come.

I have also made a gift to the UUCC endowment fund in my Will. Believe 100% is supporting the ongoing work of our Congregation. Others have given over the years and I believe the fund is around $1m at present. I saw on the Endowment Board recently and encourage others to seek out this opportunity.

My comment earlier was not recorded. I have also made a provision in my will for the UUCC Endowment. We are close to $1m in assets. I was on the Endowment Board for several years and recommend that opportunity to others in the Congregation.

Thank you Stuart for your generosity and your willingness to comment. John and I have each made a gift in our trusts. In addition we invested in the UUA planned giving fund, 70% of which will come to UUCC upon our deaths. The initial principal was shown to UUA as an immediate asset. We had a donor tax advantage. We also receive small quarterly dividends in checks, always fun to receive. Anyone interested, call me for further information. Gail Thompson

Gifts through trusts, wills, or annual dividends and monthly giving ALL make a difference in fortifying our impact on serving our UUCC members and the community.
In addition to inclusion of the Endowment in my trust (for when I’m gone), I give on a monthly basis. It was easy to set up the deduction from the UUCC website ; it can be done with either a credit or bank account. That way, beyond my pledge, I am seeding the future wellbeing of UUCC.
