Key Note Speaker: President of the Senate, William C. “Bill” Ferguson
A lifelong Maryland resident, Senator Ferguson has served in the Maryland General Assembly since 2010. He was nominated to be President of the Senate last year, after the Previous President of the Senate Thomas V. Mike Miller stepped down. A passionate advocate for education reform, Senator Ferguson moved to Baltimore with Teach for America and taught U.S. history and U.S. government to ninth and tenth graders in a breakout academy of one of Baltimore’s most challenged high schools. The inequities of the public education system in Baltimore City led Bill to engage more deeply within the community outside of the schoolhouse.
