Auction event: Rustling of Spring: An Afternoon of Music and Food

Join UUCC’s pianist and Director of Music, MICHAEL ADCOCK with guest
artist-violinist SHENG TSUNG WANG for an afternoon of nature-inspired music in the
beautiful Sykesville home of UUCC choir member Lin Wang. No stranger to UUCC
audiences, Dr. Sheng Tsung Wang is a wonderfully gifted, prize-winning violinist and
member of the President’s own Marine Chamber Orchestra, violinist in the Gemini Piano
Trio and faculty member at HCC. Hailed for his prodigious technique and praised by the
Washington Post for an “unusually fresh and arresting approach to the piano,” our own
Dr. Michael Adcock was the Recipient of the 1998 Lili Boulanger Memorial Award, a
prizewinner in the 1996 Washington International Competition and the Kosciuszko
Foundation Chopin Competitions. Inspired by the picturesque setting of lush spring blooms
and falling waters, Adcock and Wang will serenade guests with a short program of pieces
that highlight themes of nature and springtime awakening, complemented by delicious
appetizers and beverages in an exquisite, terraced garden nestled in the Patapsco Valley.
