ilyAIMY ain’t your grandpa’s folk music – and thank goodness.
They are fearless writers and performers… Voices this rich and emotionally hard-hitting – equal parts velvet darkness, barely contained heartbreak, and hard-won, unstoppable joy – don’t come around often.
— Pat Wictor, Brother Sun

***NOTE NEW DATE — 1/25/2020***

ilyAIMY combines award-winning songwriting, tight male/female harmonies, signature intricate slap-style guitar work, ukulele, djembe and more with a curiously Muppet-like stage presence for an exquisite package. Rob Hinkal (guitar & vocals), Heather Aubrey Lloyd (guitar, ukulele, djembe, vocals) and Kristen Jones (electric cello, vocals) are joined by any Rowan Corbett (also of Carolina Chocolate Drops and Rhiannon Giddens Band as recently seen on CBS’ Late Show w. David Letterman and Austin City Limits – Irish bones, djembe, vocals).

For nearly two decades ilyAIMY has played everything from bait shops to biker weeks to clothing-optional resorts nationwide. They engage audiences with humor and award-winning narrative songs that pair an unforgettably soulful and powerful female vocalist with a percussive, clawhammer-like guitarist. Their infectious energy and rapid-fire lyricism is softened with cello and lush harmony. Their energetic brand of new folk earned honors from Kerrville NewFolk, the National Association for Campus Activities, the Northeast and Southeast Regional Folk Alliances and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. They are repeat Washington Area Music Association Winners for Best Contemporary Folk Group.
