River Road UU Congregation in Bethesda, MD is hosting a screening of the documentary Birthing Justice on Sunday, September 17 at 3 pm.
Birthing Justice tells the story of the crisis faced by Black mothers and their children and the solutions needed to transform the maternal care system. The film features four regions in the U.S., including Washington, DC.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Ebony Marcelle who is the Director of Midwifery at Community of Hope, an D.C. organization featured in the documentary.
Attached is a one-sheet that includes more information including a link to register. There is no cost to attend but registration is appreciated.
We would appreciate you sharing this within your congregations. It would be lovely to have other UUs from our region there!
