Free Community Event: Enhancing Mental Health During COVID-19 & Talk Saves Lives Webinar

Our sibling congregation, the UU Congregation of Rockville (MD) is partnering with the Maryland Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to offer an educational event on Friday, October 23, at 5:30pm (EST).

About the Event

This 90 minute webinar will include two presentations:
  1. “Enhancing Mental Health During COVID-19,” and,
  2. “Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention” (with Q&A)

Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is a community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.

When facing challenging times, it is important to protect your mental health. Learn what to do to when you notice that your or a loved one’s mental health is deteriorating, how to practice self-care, and that it is ok to ask for help.
