We will gather for a brief press conference and then talk to our neighbors door-to-door. We’ll be practicing COVID safety by providing KN95 masks, distancing, and canvassing outdoors. You will receive the training and materials you need. Let’s show our Council how much workers mean to our community! The majority of laid-off hospitality workers in Howard County are women and people of color. Historical data shows that long-term or permanent loss of employment has destabilizing effects in working-class communities of color already disproportionately harmed by the pandemic and its socioeconomic shockwaves. If enacted, CB-10 will ensure that no Howard County hospitality worker permanently loses their job as a result of a pandemic none of us had control over.We are asking that all workers be given an equal chance at thriving in Howard County. This bill would help all kinds of workers in our community. Stand with us in solidarity.
