Say “Yes!” to Climate Justice by Volunteering Locally

Would you like to volunteer locally to minimize climate change AND help others? The Community Ecology Institute at Freetown Farm is intent on doing both. For example, their “new Nourishing Gardens initiative [will] transform lawns throughout Howard County into ecologically beneficial food growing spaces. The program offers job skills training and work opportunities, increases the local supply of fresh, healthy produce and gets it to those in need, improves the ecosystem, and provides community engagement and education opportunities.”

There are many ways to volunteer at CEI, and they have kindly offered to provide a volunteer orientation to UUCC members on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11am – 1pm.  All are welcome!
