december theme & questions
I believe God is everything … one day when I was sitting quiet and feeling like a motherless child, which I was, it come to me: that feeling of being part of everything not separate at all. I knew that if I cut a tree, my arm would bleed. — Alice Walker
December’s Soul Matters theme is mystery. During our time together we will explore the following questions, as time allows. Each person will be offered space to share their thoughts and feelings on each question. Participants are invited to share with depth as they are comfortable doing so.
- What was the first mystery to capture your imagination? How does that still shape / inspire / guide you today?
- What’s the most unprovable thing you’ve placed your faith in?
- Have you ever heard silence speak? What did it say?
- Do you spend more time treating life like a problem to be solved, a game to be won, a struggle to be survived, or a mystery to be lived?
