As most of you know we have two pantry boxes outside of our building at our Owen Brown Interfaith Center. We fill these boxes at least once a day if not more and they are consistently being used. We get food donations from UUCC members, friends, neighbors, and local stores. Even so, it is very expensive to keep the pantry going. Food has gone up as has the need. It is a powerful and impactful ministry to feed the hungry.
We are very short on funds. We recently eliminated baby wipes and paper towels to help save money. If you’re able to donate money you can make a financial contribution to UUCC with a memo note of Food Insecurity or send a check to UUCC with “food insecurity” noted in the memo. If you’d rather donate food directly, you are welcome to put it in the boxes any time.
Please let UUCC Member Cindy Williams know if you have any ideas to help us continue to fund our important work: cindysavadkin@gmail.com.
