General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), where participants gather to worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy decisions for the Association through a democratic process. This year, the meeting will be fully virtual, running June 14-21. Participants leave with renewed energy and innovative ideas to share with their congregations and the community at large!
General Assembly is open to all. However, each congregation sends specifically appointed delegates to vote on matters relating to the larger Association. Each congregation certifies membership annually to have voting delegates.
UUCC’s Board of Trustees sends delegates to represent our congregation each year, and we have eight voting delegate spots this year. If you are interested in serving as a delegate specifically, please contact me (Regina Verow, Congregational President) directly at regina@reginaverow.com before May 1. If the cost of attending as a delegate is prohibitive, let us know. A limited number of scholarships are available.
This year’s General Assembly, Meet the Moment: Together Everywhere, will unfold in two parts with a midweek pause. From Sunday, June 14, to Tuesday, June 16, delegates will engage in fully virtual General Sessions focused on the business of the Association. Programming resumes Friday, June 19, through Sunday, June 21, with worship, featured speakers, and Meet the Moment themed programs that can be experienced online by anyone who registers. This flexible model makes GA more accessible, sustainable, and connected for UUs everywhere.
