This Week’s Glimmer ✨

This Week’s Glimmer ✨

What is Glimmer? Most weeks we’ll share a moment of hope / joy aka a glimmer ✨ within our shared congregational life. Moments that may otherwise go unrecognized and that are life-giving and worthy of celebration.

Ken Rock, UUCC member and local PATH leader, had a letter to the editor published in the Baltimore Sun recently. The letter opposed Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE)’s latest proposed rate increase. He writes:

“At a time when utility bills are only going up, Marylanders deserve real solutions to high bills…

As Exelon profits, customers like us are left with the bill. My own electric bill rose by 50% in the past 2 years…

BGE’s guaranteed profit margins of nearly 10% are unacceptable given how Marylanders are struggling with the cost of living…

We’re calling on the Public Service Commission to hold BGE accountable and make sure Maryland doesn’t guarantee outrageous profits at the cost of ratepayers. We’ll be continuing to speak up until they do so.”

More glimmer from our floors. The entire raised platform has been reinforced and new finished flooring put down. Our new super grand piano is very weighty. The storage room behind the podium has also been repaired and reorganized. All truly good refreshments.
