Interim Search Update – April 18, 2024

On January 18, 2024, Rev. Paige Getty announced she would be departing UUCC at the end of the congregational year on June 30, 2024. Stay up-to-date on the interim minister search process, its timeline, and latest related news here.

The UUA’s interim minister application was submitted last week. Now we wait!! The application is being reviewed by potential interim ministers and we will be given the names of interested candidates on Sunday, April 28. This is an exciting time at UUCC. The question that generated the most discussion amongst the Board was What are the top three things your next minister should focus on to have a successful ministry with you?

Our answer was:

  1. Support the congregation to overcome its tendency to avoid conflict, finding golden nuggets from our recent experience, as we actualize our determination to live into our new values and mission and move toward Beloved Community with an emphasis on connection and lifespan spiritual development.
  2. Support the congregation to enhance multi-faith engagement in our local community as we consider inviting one or more additional owners into our interfaith center.
  3. Having implemented policy-based governance decades ago, with little substantive revision, we need support to robustly review and update policy governance and democratic structures for clarity and accountability with an eye to dismantling any structures that lead to inequitable or oppressive outcomes.

Find resources, including timelines and the transition handbook on our interim search webpage. Board members are available after each Sunday service to answer any questions you may have.
