Joys and Sorrows

Joys and Sorrows

Each Sunday we honor personal joys & sorrows within our community during worship. We invite you to send yours via email to JoysAndSorrows@uucolumbia.net or write them in the Joys & Sorrows book at the back of the sanctuary when you’re joining us in-person.

Below, you’re invited to view this past week’s joys and sorrows.

Joys & Sorrows — June 19, 2022

  1. [Paige] In addition to celebrating Juneteenth, many among us are observing Father’s Day today — a day that may be one of gratitude, joy, pain, grief, playfulness … or, for so many, it’s likely complicated. So, we honor all who father lovingly, regardless of official titles or formal relationships. And we honor all the myriad feelings associated with this day.
  2. Katja Fort Rhoden — Gregory Rhoden just ended his second round of chemo. We are now waiting to see if his autoimmune disease is in remission. Keep him/us in your thoughts.
  3. Tina Horn — Between Brooke’s amazing work and story, and Paige’s words, and Nina’s singing, what a completely brilliant spiritual renewal for me. Thank you, thank you.
