Each Sunday during our 10AM worship service we share and honor aloud personal joys & sorrows within our community. ❤️ This ritual creates space for us to hold one another in community in times of celebration, grief, and more.
To participate, we invite you to:
- Send your joys and/or sorrows to JoysAndSorrows@uucolumbia.net, or,
- Write your joys and/or sorrows in the Joys & Sorrows book found at the back of Sanctuary C when you’re joining us in-person.
The Worship Associate for that morning will read them aloud to the congregation during the worship service.
During most 10AM worship services we also invite congregants to form a line while some music is played to drop a stone in our bowl of communal water, located at the front of Sanctuary C. The stones we drop in the water represent our joys and sorrows, and how our lives ripple out and touch one another. 🌊
