UUCC’s Karuna lay-led pastoral care team (karuna is Sanskrit for compassion) is holding a workshop to deepen our connections to each other, hone our pastoral care support skills, and coordinate and plan for the coming year. Registration is required no later than October 26.
This in-person workshop at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center on Saturday, November 1 from 9AM-3PM is for UUCC’s lay-led pastoral caregivers (Karuna) and anyone who may consider participating in Karuna caregiving at some point soonish or down the road (no obligation).
- We will explore what calls us to caring work and how it supports us spiritually.
- We will discuss how to build caring relationships and foster supportive conversations while maintaining healthy boundaries.
- We will also discuss needs within the congregation, what we currently offer as a team, what else may be needed, and consider what individual caregivers are willing to offer.
Light snacks and lunch provided. 🥪
There will be discussions in large group, pairs, and possibly small groups. Some small group conversations may be unmoderated; we will attend carefully to taking turns sharing.
