Hannah Nelson
Hannah is a graduate of The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies, concentrated in directing. After graduating, Hannah became involved with Everyman Theatre in Baltimore as an assistant to the director for the show The Book of Joseph. It was amazing to work on a new piece with a great playwrite and an amazing director. The show broke box office records for the theatre and was a major success!
During her senior year of college, Hannah was selected to direct the Theatre Department’s production of Suddenly Last Summer. Suddenly Last Summer was part of the department’s yearly student-directed, student-designed production: Studio 3. In this process, students pick the play and spend the fall semester going through the design process as a class. At the end of the semester, auditions are held and the director must cast his/her show. During the spring semester, the students undergo the full rehearsal, tech, and performance process; culminating in a fully completed production.
While in college, Hannah also directed The Addams Family Musical with UMBC’s Musical Theatre Club and assistant directed many other shows with faculty. You can visit her website at https://nelsonhannahrose16.wixsite.com/mysite.
Hannah wholly believes in the power theatre has over all facets of the human condition. Her mission is to inspire those who need motivation, support those who are in need of healing, and enthrall those who need entertaining. She is very excited to start a new chapter here at UUCC with Rhinoceros!
