If you care about climate and justice, but don’t have much time, try out a Climate Justice Micro-Action! We will offer a variety of one-time, bite-sized actions you can take quickly, and then move on with daily life.
We invite you to join us in room 170 after grabbing some coffee on Sunday, November 24 for our first Climate Justice Micro-Action: Curtis Bay vs. CSX coal. This is a health and justice issue for the residents of nearby Curtis Bay and a climate issue for us all.
The micro-action will be to submit letters in support of the residents to oppose or at least modify the repermitting of CSX’s coal operation in Curtis Bay. Everything you need will be provided and you can finish in 15 minutes.
However, if like many UUs, you want to really understand the issues and nuances before you get involved, the “micro” session will be followed by a 30-minute presentation and discussion to answer any questions you may have and describe further actions we can take.
As Joan Baez said: “Action is the antidote to despair.”
We’ll have a second micro-action on Thanksgiving Day. Learn more here 🍁
