Dear MS Parents,
We are drawing to a close of the year for the World Religions class. For the next few weeks, we will be covering Islam.
May 3 – Class
May 10 – Off for Mother’s Day
May 17 – Guests to speak about Islam
And that’s the end of the year! I will touch base with the teachers about whether we can manage an end-of-year celebration.

After:
- In our worship time this week, we will explore how Muslims place the struggle against self-centeredness at the heart of their faith. In particular we will lift up the way Muslims frequently use the phrase “Bismillah”(“In the name of God”) before actions to remind themselves that those actions – and life – is not “always about me!” As a way of opening up a discussion about this with your youth, watch and discuss these videos with them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYvoe8PWro0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kdt-miOhGwI.
