Freedom is not a state; it is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau where we can finally sit down and rest. Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.
– John Lewis
Word has spread that several UUCC congregants are planning to take part in the No Kings protest this Saturday, June 14—particularly the one happening in Columbia, closest to our building. That protest will take place from 10 AM to 12 PM at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway (11100 Broken Land Pkwy, Columbia, MD 21044).
👉 RSVP AND LEARN MORE
If you’re interested in carpooling 🚗 to the Columbia protest, bring your handmade signs, water, etc. and meet-up with other congregants at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center parking lot between 9:15AM and 9:30AM on June 14.
📸 Whether you’re attending the protest in Columbia, Catonsville, Baltimore, DC, or elsewhere, we invite you to send your photos to Sara Davidson: sara@uucolumbia.net. Sara will share them in an upcoming Tapestry eNewsletter edition.

I would suggest coming to OBIC earlier rather than later – in other words 9am rather than 9:15. Today I learned that there is a Merriwether Post event starting as the protest is ending and traffic and parking could be crazy.
