UUCC’s democracy in action team will be busy in the remaining month before election day! Voter mobilization continues with ongoing letter and postcard writing campaigns to registered voters all over the country. We have one more voter registration event, at HoCo Pride on Sunday, October 13. And join us following the worship service on Sunday, October 20 in the music room downstairs for the Howard County Board of Education Candidate Information Forum.
If you are interested in any of these or other activities, please contact us at vote@uucolumbia.net or talk to us at our table during social hour. There are still postcards available from Reclaim Our Vote, with all to be mailed by October 15. The Vote Forward letter writing campaigns will run a bit longer, with all letters to be mailed by October 29.
If you haven’t been involved and want to see what your fellow congregants have been up to, the two photos below show 250 letters being mailed to registered young voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and North Carolina, and 50 postcards going to registered Black voters in Florida. To date, UUCC congregants have written over 4500 letters and postcards.

Great job, Ken. I may not be physically up to attending the Pride event on this Sunday. I heard that an uptight organizer of that event was discouraging partisan activities there, but don’t know the details. Partisan activities would be my only interest.
I will try to attend the school board event on the 20th.
