Dear YRUU families:
It’s almost that time! We have a nearly-complete Order of Service, and we have a timeline. Please plan to be at OBIC no later than 8:00 a.m. on Sunday March 18 so we can do a brief run-through and sound check before the 9 a.m. service. I should have emailed scripts to all those who have scripted parts. If there are any YRUU youth who haven’t been able to join us in planning and don’t have a speaking part, please still feel welcome to be with us on Sunday! I would love to have you there to help pass out Orders of Service and help the ushers!
Just in case any of you are worried or anxious, maybe this will reassure you. Worship service is a thing that is thought about in advance, but the planning proper almost always is done…the week ahead of time. Just like now! It’s a great time to be working on it and all your ideas sound amazing. Worship is a place people come to because they want to be there – they find things to uplift them and nourish them and sometimes make them feel less alone. They will love what you have to say and be grateful to you for sharing with them.
Please reach out to me if you have questions or concerns, or want to make a change. I updated the Order of Service draft, for those of you who received the Google Drive link. If you didn’t receive that or lost the message, let me know and I will send it to you again.
This week, think about what you want to say and how you want to say it. Take a few minutes to read your pieces out loud so we can get a rough estimate of our “run time.” And if any of you want rehearsal space this week, let me know and I will try to reserve a room for you!
I can’t wait to be in worship with you next week!
(P.S. If no one picks a photo for the cover of the Order of Service in the next, say, 24 hours, I’m gonna do it myself!) =D
