Our Whole Lives (OWL) will not take place this church year, 2020-2021. The OWL Program Coordinators at denominational levels have asked us not to run any of the OWL programs virtually. The programs are built to be interactive and experiential, which won’t translate well in a virtual classroom. OWL also requires a confidential atmosphere so that students can trust that they can speak freely with adults who accept them where they are – an atmosphere hard to create when you are sitting in your living room surrounded by siblings and parents. Our Whole Lives programs will return when we can all gather together in person safely.
In the meanwhile, Director of Religious Education Robin and Rev. Paige will be running a monthly program to help parents and adult caregivers become comfortable with conversations about sexuality with children. Parents as Sexuality Educators will run each First Thursday of the month at 7 pm.
