Overnight and Warm Welcome Shelter

Overnight and Warm Welcome Shelter

Dear YRUU family –

I hope you all had a wonderful, restful, relaxing Thanksgiving holiday! Here is what’s happening for YRUU in the next week or so!

First off, this Friday, November 30 will be our annual Quest/YRUU holiday overnight, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Sanctuary A. To get an accurate headcount, it’s important to RSVP! And parents, this cannot be an overnight without your awesome help and dedication! We have one overnight chaperone slot filled – if you can help PLEASE CLICK HERE to sign up. We need at least one more adult to be here from 11 p.m. on Friday until 7 a.m. on Saturday.

For the overnight, please bring snacks to share (home baked goodies, store bought stuff, sodas or juice if you would like them) and games. If you would like to participate in the entirely optional gift exchange, please bring a small wrapped gift costing no more than $10. We will provide breakfast; please bring $5 to help defray the cost of breakfast food!

The following week, on Friday, December 7, we will be serving dinner to our guests at the Warm Welcome Shelter! Deborah Toppenberg-Pejcic has generously taken on this meal – there is a signup available here. Set up begins at 4:45 and clean-up will run until about 8 p.m. You can come for part of the time or the whole time, but please sign up and join us in service to our guests and neighbors!

With all this extra stuff going on, there will not be a First Sunday discussion this month, nor will we have a “regular” YRUU meeting the next few weeks. I hope you will all be able to join us on Friday the 30th, Friday the 7th, or both!!

If you have any questions, as always, please let Jen know and she will answer or help find someone who can answer!
