Parent Orientations – Save the Date!

Parents, please save the date for these parent orientations in September and October! For more information on any of these classes, please email Robin Slaw, Director of Religious Education.

If you haven’t registered yet, please do, so we have an accurate count of the number of children attending. Registration forms are here: https://uucolumbia.net/time-to-register-children-youth-for-re/

September 18 at noon – Our Whole Lives grades K/1: This is a mandatory orientation for parents and children who will be attending our age-appropriate human sexuality program for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

September 25 at 4 pm – Our Whole Lives grade 8: This is our keystone human sexuality program for students in 8th grade. The parent orientation is mandatory for your child to attend the program.

February 19 at noon – Our Whole Lives grades 4/5: This is a mandatory orientation for parents and children will will be attending our age-appropriate human sexuality program for children in 4th and 5th grade.

October 2 at 4 pm – Compass Points for grades 6/7: Compass Points is our middle school Unitarian Universalist Identity class, and is open to any middle school students who were not able to attend during the pandemic. Orientation for youth and parents will happen during class.

October 9 – Spirit Play orientation for grades 1-5 at regular class time (10:30-ish): This orientation is for parents and children in grades 1-5 to understand how our Montessori-based program on Unitarian Universalist Identity works. Even if your child attended Spirit Play before the pandemic, please plan to attend this orientation to help us all remember! Spirit Play orientation will happen during class on Sunday morning.

October 9 – Quest Orientation at 4 pm: The Quest year is our Coming of Age program for high school students, and is open to any high school youth who missed the program due to the pandemic. Orientation for youth and parents will occur during class on October 9th.
