Michael is a native of Virginia. He received his musical training at the Oberlin Conservatory and the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he earned a master’s, artist diploma and doctorate in Piano Performance.
As winner of the 1998 Lili Boulanger Memorial Award, Dr. Adcock has cultivated a versatile career as both soloist and frequent chamber music collaborator. He has won many awards, including prizes in the Washington International Piano Competition, and Kosciuscko Chopin Competitions of Chicago and New York. Dr. Adcock made his Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1998.
In the summers, Dr. Adcock is on the artist roster of the Musicorda (MA), and Sarasota (FL) music festivals. A faculty member of the Washington Conservatory of Music since 2002, Dr. Adcock makes his home in Washington, DC.
