Last week we shared that we may be setting a record for the slowest pledge drive in UUCC history this year. This week we received only 8 more pledges, continuing the trend of a very slow pledge drive season.
UUCC has over 260 member households — these are households in which somebody has taken the step to formalize their membership status at UUCC by signing the membership book and committing to pledge financially. If all 260 member households make a pledge as they committed to, we would already be over 90% of our way to our participation goal, and as of today are only 57% of the way there.

UUCC’s pledging model is so everybody feels collective ownership of and investment in the community we are building together. It’s also important to get pledges (the promise/commitment, not the actual gifts) in now so that UUCC can make its budget for the upcoming year.
This upcoming Tuesday, the Board of Trustees will be reviewing a draft budget for the upcoming fiscal year (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024). A congregational budget at our current pledge level means eliminating program funding for children’s religious education and Owen Brown partnerships, or eliminating critical staff positions that support our social action efforts, youth programming, connection groups, and more.
So, please take a moment today or this weekend. Think about what you value at UUCC, and what dollar amount you can give to support our UUCC community over the next fiscal year. And enter that amount into the website form here.
