Service Descriptions

Sunday, August 4 @ 10:30am: “Be Friends”
hosted by UU Congregation of Arlington, VA

They say the best way to have a friend is to be a friend. But what does that really mean? Rev. Amanda Poppei will explore a family systems perspective on friendship (boundaries, boundaries, boundaries!) and invite us to consider how being a good friend to someone else is also about being a good friend to ourselves.

Sunday, August 11 @ 10:30am: “Love Reaches Out”
hosted by UU Congregation of Rockville, MD

In a changing landscape of American culture and congregational participation, as Unitarian Universalists we are faced with how to grow and flourish in these times. We know we have a life changing and saving faith and message, how do we reach out with Love?

Sunday, August 18 @ 10:30am: “When to Question”
hosted by All Souls Church, Unitarian in Washington, DC

Unitarian Universalists are known for asking questions, and there’s a lot of truth to that. Our very existence as a religion is based on our theological ancestors developing questions about the beliefs and practices of the dominant orthodoxy. And yet, we’re also products of the culture around us, so there are still plenty of things we take for granted—no questions asked. How do we figure out when to question, and when not to?
