The religious education (RE) ministry is a cooperative program of the entire congregation. There are many ways to be involved at all levels of the program and all levels of time and commitment!
Many of our adult members and parents take volunteer roles in our program for children and youth at some time. We find the practice of teaching, in and of itself, to be a valued experience of spiritual, intellectual, and social growth in our community. Teaching religious education is a path to learning and to deepening not only your own religious understanding, it also works to establish relationships in our congregational community across ages, generations, and social groups.
Whether teaching or helping in a non-teaching support role, it is our volunteers who enable our congregation to provide a robust ministry to children and youth!
In adult learning classes, volunteer congregants plan for and lead our adult discussion series, classes, book groups, and workshops.
If you have an interest in providing opportunities for all in this community to learn and grow in mind and spirit, we’d love to have your participation in UUCC religious education! Please connect with staff member Kelli Danaker at kelli@uucolumbia.net to learn more.
