Started at UUCC in 2002 under the leadership of Interim Minister, Richard Nugent, our small group ministry began as one “Intimacy and Ultimacy” group and has grown to eight or more “Reflection Groups.” More than 300 persons in our congregation have been in at least one group, and many continue year after year.
Small Group Ministry
Known in UU circles by many names (such as Covenant Groups or Chalice Circles), small group ministry has been expanding throughout our denomination for the last decade.
Reflection Groups will be further exploring our monthly worship themes at UUCC in an intentional way, to listen to each other deeply and with discipline. We will be experiencing the themes, not just analyzing them, and offering suggestions for a spiritual practice to try before each monthly meeting. Grow your faith intentionally and develop meaningful relationships with others at UUCC through our small group ministry.
New in 2018, we will try at least one online Reflection Group, so you can attend from home. You’ll need an internet connection and a computer or phone with a camera for the online group. If you have children at home in bed, or don’t have a way to drive to a monthly meeting, this might be the perfect option for you! We’ll still have all the regular in-person groups, too!
Before signing up, please consider that you are making a commitment to your group to be in attendance for each session!

Parents Weathering the Storm
UUCC will be starting a small group ministry for parents of adolescents and young adults who are weathering the storm of parenting beyond the typical challenges. Small group ministry give us a place to talk out our hopes and concerns in an atmosphere of acceptance. If you would like to join the Storm Parents Reflection Group, please contact Robin Slaw by phone or email.
