Some of you may already have received your mail-in ballots for the upcoming election. If you live in Howard County, please mark your ballot FOR Question A: to preserve the Liberty Act, that protects our privacy and that of our immigrant neighbors. In addition, we need your help to get information out about this issue — even if you don’t live in Howard County.
The Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Maryland (UULM-MD), working in collaboration with the Howard County Coalition for Immigrant Justice, is asking for your help in texting your neighbors, writing postcards, canvassing door-to-door, and distributing literature at polling places. They will provide everything you need:
- For texting, you’ll need your computer. You will receive a list, and you won’t be using your own phone number. Click on a name and the software does the rest. You just monitor for replies.
- For postcards, you will receive the cards, the message to write, and a list of addresses.
- For distributing literature, you will receive flyers for door-to-door canvassing and for the polling places.
There will be a Zoom training meeting on text-banking today, Thursday, October 13th. If you want to participate in living our values, preserving our democracy and the rights of all Howard Countians, and keeping our county a safe and welcoming community for all, please sign up using the link below.
