This February, UUCC is launching ✨ Spotlight ✨ , an initiative to feature one area of congregational life each month. Our goal is to showcase the members, mission, and work of the featured ministry, creating avenues for congregants to connect more deeply with that ministry’s work and meaning.
To start things off, this February we are spotlighting Karuna, UUCC’s lay team of trained pastoral caregivers who are available as listeners in times of transition, sorrow, illness, grief, celebration, or joy. Pledge Drive will be the spotlight in March, Membership in April, and so on.
The members of each month’s spotlight ministry will work with the staff to highlight each month’s featured ministry in whatever ways they choose. In February, Karuna will be featured through a couple of Voices of UUCC reflections by Karuna caregivers, and a Rooted & Reaching podcast episode with Linda Lindon, who helped create Karuna. We’ll also have some caregivers offer Chalice Lighting words in Sunday services, and are hosting a Meet & Greet for current caregivers and those interested in learning more.
We look forward to working together to spotlight and strengthen the good work of our various ministries!
