REMINDER: Worship Service Sunday, August 7th at 10 AM

We enjoyed our time together this past July at our Summertime Sundays, but Preaching Along the Potomac has ended and it is time for us to return to our normal 10:00 AM EDT worship services. This Sunday, August 7, we welcome UUCC congregant and UU historian, Kathy Parker, and Worship Associate, Melissa Affolter, for a service entitled Finding Who We Are in Unitarian Universalism.”

Worship services are still multiplatform; you can either come in person to the Owen Brown Interfaith Center (OBIC) to gather with others in Sanctuary C or watch the services online at the usual Zoom link.

Reminders about attending service in person:

  • We still require masks in Sanctuary C during worship.
  • We ask that one member from your household sign in when you arrive at the building for contact tracing reasons.
  • Our chairs are spaced out for physical distancing, but you are invited to move and reconfigure them to sit near those you want to be closer to.
  • Religious Education (RE) for children grades K-8 will begin again  during the Sunday morning service when we have enough teachers. You can find more information about this summer’s Random Acts of Kindness Summer RE program here.

Information about Coffee Hour:

This past month of July we enjoyed social time in Sanctuary B as part of Summertime Sundays, and we’d like to continue to make space each Sunday for coffee ☕, snacks 🍩, conversation 🗣️, and connection building 🤝🏽. Unfortunately, we cannot continue having coffee hour without volunteer support from the congregation — aka you!

As it stands now, due to a positive response from a small number of volunteers, coffee hour will happen this Sunday after service. But we need more volunteers to keep it running functionally!
