Dear UUCC,
Last week I received your travel voucher gift—I am humbled by its financial value, and I am delighted to imagine where it might take us! I’ve begun exploring the Sumak Travel site and am talking with friends who know Latin America better than I do. It will be such a joy to have a grand adventure, knowing that you made it possible! Thank you.
Meanwhile, we Gettys have been enjoying your other gift, which is on display in our home. The custom stained glass artwork hangs in the sunny window of our family room—I’ve enclosed a photo so you can see how beautifully it fits there.
So far, this new chapter of our lives is unfolding gently. Hallie is settling well in her first semester at the University of Vermont, and Sara in her first semester of high school. Graham continues to ensure the tech systems are properly serving the institution where he works. And I’m enjoying slower, more spacious days and weekends, and am not eager to fill the time with much new activity. I will be working as a Voting Judge on November 5th and have just accepted an invitation to travel to Prague to lead a workshop with the Czech Unitarians later in November. I continue to serve on the County Executive’s Interfaith Advisory Council, and I look forward to volunteering with the local team in anticipation of UUA General Assembly in Baltimore next summer.
I trust that you are caring well for one another as the seasons change and as you continue to face the realities of life and death and loving and growing. My heart is warmed to imagine that you are fiercely embodying love each day.
With ongoing love and affection,
Paige
