The Joy of Giving!

The Joy of Giving!

Many of you have experienced the joy of giving THE perfect gift to someone you care about.

You can expand and spread that joy this week when you donate unwanted, unused items from your homes to the Secret Santa Shop for students at Cradlerock Elementary School.

UUCC’s youth group is collecting gifts this Sunday, December 11 to fill the shelves of the Secret Santa Shop, and then staffing the shop at Cradlerock Elementary through the week — and they need your contributions!

Background

Last year, UUCC’s Little Free Pantry volunteers sponsored a Secret Santa Shop at Cradlerock Elementary. Volunteers collected household items and gifts that became the shop, and students were invited to browse the shop and select the perfect gift to give to someone they care about. Everyone felt the joy of giving: from the young child who found the perfect pair of earrings for their parent, to the Little Free Pantry volunteers who made the shop possible for the students. This year, UUCC’s youth are taking the lead!

What do I give?

Do you have unused items sitting around your house that could be the perfect gift for someone else? Maybe it’s a pair of fuzzy socks you were given but have never worn. Maybe it’s that candle you don’t think you’ll ever light.

Bring it to OBIC on Sunday, December 11!

Other items you can give are:

  • Jewelry
  • Holiday ornaments
  • Toys
  • Dish towels
  • Picture frames
  • Figurines
  • Socks
  • Toiletry items
  • Hand lotion
  • and more!

Leftover gift-wrapping supplies, small gift boxes, and gift bags are also welcome – our youth will help the students package and wrap gifts for their loved ones.

Thank you for spreading the joy of giving!
