UUCC Needs a UULM Representative
UUCC needs a volunteer to be our representative to Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Maryland (UULM). UULM is a statewide advocacy network of Unitarian Universalists working to educate, mobilize, and coordinate UUs on specific issues before the Maryland General Assembly. Working in coalition with established state and national organizations, UULM focuses on issues that foster justice, health, and equity in society.
UUCC’s UULM representative will receive emails regarding the status of the Maryland General Assembly’s key legislation and UULM’s upcoming lobbying actions and events and will keep UUCC informed of these by attending quarterly meetings of UUCC’s Social Action Council and through Link articles. The UULM representative may also attend UULM events and engage in personal lobbying of state legislators representing Howard County. They may also attend the pre-session meetings held to determine the issues on which UULM will concentrate for the coming session.
