Warm Welcome Shelter Dinner!

Warm Welcome Shelter Dinner!

Hello YRUU families!

It truly is that time of year again – UUCC and all the congregations of OBIC will be hosting the Warm Welcome Shelter from December 4 – 11. Every year, the congregations of Howard County take turns hosting, providing extra beds to supplement the Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center’s shelter services during the coldest months of the year.

Each year the youth (and their families!) of the congregation are asked to provide dinners to the shelter guests on a few nights. This year the evening that YRUU will be hosting the dinner is Sunday, December 10. Rather than a regular YRUU meeting that night, we’ll ask you to sign up to bring dishes, serve them to our guests, and then join them for dinner and fellowship.

For this dinner to run smoothly, we are asking for a parent volunteer to lead up the coordination. Dana Sohr will put each parent coordinator in direct touch with the meals coordinator – there are recipes and outlines from past dinners to help you along! It’s a great way to serve the community and spend time together. If you can help out, please let Jen know!

Thank you for all you do for our community!
