Hello Parents!
We are so glad to welcome you to a new year of Religious Education at UUCC! If you are seeing this email, you have a child registered in the 8th grade Our Whole Lives (OWL) class. You will see all the announcements about RE here or in the general RE news.
What’s Our Whole Lives all about?
We welcome your eighth graders to an environment of holistic human sexuality. This year is all about helping your youth understand the values of respect and personal responsibility in the context of relationship. Participants are given the guidance they need to be able to make wise decisions about their sexual health and behavior. Our teachers are Julie Boughn, Katie Cervi, Suzi Gerb, Eric Keiley, and John Seibel.
This is a covenanted course in which consistent participation is expected. It includes an OWL Parent component of five sessions during the year, held in conjunction with the class times.
A Mandatory parent orientation will take place on Wednesday, September 13th, 7:00-9:00 pm.
OWL Students start off the class with a group bonding experience on Sunday afternoon, October 1st, noon to 5 pm at Terrapin Adventures. More information provided at the parent orientation.
Regular OWL classes start on October 8th! PLEASE NOTE: Our 8th grade OWL class takes place from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sundays!
And remember; say hi to someone new each day this week, as part of our month of Welcoming!
