Self-care has never been so important as it is now, when there is so much so broken in the world. And UUCC has never been so important. The self-care of our beloved congregation that we all share is called stewardship.
One vital way to contribute to stewarding UUCC is to act as a leader. We vote on candidates for leadership positions at UUCC’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 7th, and the UUCC Nominating Committee is responsible for recruiting a slate of candidates. So, what we say about welcoming – whatever your age, time in the congregation, background, faith tradition, size/color/shape of your body, or past experience in leadership positions – we‘re hoping you will step up.
👉 Additional details are available on our 2026 Nominations Info Sheet ℹ️.
FYI, for those for whom our upcoming UUCC election will not be their first rodeo, there is a change starting this year: we will also be voting to fill vacancies on the Owen Brown Interfaith Center (OBIC) Board of Directors. These leadership positions on the OBIC Board, which is responsible for our building, are enormously important to effective stewardship of UUCC, as well as to the interfaith aspect of our mission and values. We hope you’ll consider being a candidate.
For more information or to throw your hat into the ring, contact the Nominating Committee at NomComm@uucolumbia.net. Or speak to a committee member (look for flannel work shirts 🥼) lurking around the Board Corner on Sundays during social hour in Sanctuary B.
